The Magic and Miracles of Creativity

I was inspired recently by a mantra so generously shared by another content creator that really resonated with me. I have since made it my own and it states:

“My creativity is what the Universe wants to express through me right now.” 

The moment I heard it, I instantly felt it. It brought tears to my eyes because somehow, those words were exactly what I needed to hear, like a  message sent directly to my heart at precisely the moment I needed it most.

There are times when I struggle with putting myself and my work out into the world. Times when I wonder if what I’ve created is good enough. If I’m good enough. If it’s unique enough, special enough, meaningful enough. I try not to compare myself to other artists, but let’s be honest, sometimes that little voice of doubt still manages to finds its way in.

And then there are other moments when I wonder how important is art and adornment in the grand scheme of things. With so much competing for our attention and so many things pulling us in different directions for a multitude of life’s reasons, what does what I make really matter?

I do believe that creativity is an expression of the Universe within us and I’m so grateful for it. I believe it does matter. It’s something much bigger than us. It is the life force, the energy, the passion and the purpose that moves through us when we allow ourselves to listen, imagine, play and create.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful things about creativity is that we get to witness the invisible become visible. We get to take a feeling, a thought, a spark of inspiration and somehow turn it into something tangible that can be held, worn, admired, shared and cherished. It's hard evidence of magic and miracles!

Being an artist and putting yourself and your work out into the world isn’t always easy. For me, it takes a little, or sometimes a lot of courage every single time. I’m learning to trust the process; to trust the inspiration; to trust that if something wants to be expressed and shared through me, there's a reason for it.  Maybe it doesn’t have to be important to everyone; it simply needs to find its way to the person who will appreciate and benefit from it.

The Artisan Patina Brass Collection is my newest expression of magic and miracles as ideas, inspiration, passion and purpose made their way from somewhere within me and into the world. Every piece is one-of-a-kind and carries a little bit of that journey in it.
